WildPause Privacy Policy
WildPause is an Android screen-time wellbeing app published by Miolo Studio ("Miolo", "we", "us"). This policy explains what WildPause accesses, what it stores on your device, and how you can delete it.
Summary
WildPause works on your device. It has no account system, no cloud sync, no advertising, no analytics, and no third-party tracking SDK. The app does not request Android's Internet permission, so app data cannot be uploaded to Miolo or anyone else. Your allowance, selected apps, foreground-app detection, puzzle state, and settings stay in app-private storage.
Information WildPause accesses
- Usage access — Android Usage Access allows WildPause to see which app is in the foreground and how long a selected app has been used. WildPause uses this only to run the daily allowance and show the block screen. It does not read message contents, screen contents, keystrokes, contacts, photos, files, location, microphone, or camera.
- Display over other apps — allows WildPause to show the block screen over a selected app.
- Foreground service — keeps app monitoring active and shows the required Android status notification.
- Notifications — optional. WildPause uses notifications for monitoring status. Denying notification permission does not stop protection.
- Launcher apps — WildPause reads installed launcher apps so you can choose which apps to pause. The list is processed on the device and is not uploaded.
Information stored on your device
- Package names of the apps you choose to pause.
- Daily allowance, remaining minutes, bonus minutes, daily cap, pause state, retry cooldown, and reset timestamps.
- Allowance and usage totals calculated from Android Usage Access, plus local diagnostic state such as the last status reason and last poll time.
- Puzzle session state, attempts, hint usage, and reward status.
- App settings and onboarding state.
This information is stored in WildPause's app-private storage. It is not sold, rented, shared for advertising, or used to build a profile.
What WildPause does not do
- No account, email address, phone number, or sign-in.
- No cloud sync, no Miolo server, and no Internet permission in the Android app.
- No advertising, analytics, crash-reporting, or tracking SDK.
- No access to messages, contacts, photos, files, location, microphone, camera, or health data.
- No sale or rental of personal information.
Android permissions and your control
You can revoke Usage Access, Display over other apps, or notification permission at any time in Android settings. Revoking Usage Access stops app detection. Revoking overlay access prevents block screens from appearing. Notifications are optional.
Data deletion
- Uninstall WildPause; or
- Open Android Settings → Apps → WildPause → Storage → Clear storage.
Either action removes the app's local data. Because Miolo does not receive your WildPause data, there is no server-side copy to delete. For privacy questions, email hello@miolo.in.
Backups
WildPause disables Android app backup and excludes its local preference file from backup rules. Some device manufacturers provide their own device-transfer or backup tools; those are controlled by your device settings, not by Miolo.
Children
WildPause is not directed to children under 13, or the minimum age required in your country. Miolo does not knowingly collect personal information from children. WildPause does not transmit app data off the device.
Security
WildPause relies on Android's app sandbox and your device's access controls. Because the app does not transmit app data to Miolo, Miolo cannot access, read, or recover it. Protecting the device with a screen lock and keeping Android updated remains important.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when WildPause changes. The updated date appears at the top of this page. Material changes will also be reflected in the app or store listing where required.
