PastSelf Privacy Policy
PastSelf is an Android alarm app published by Miolo Studio ("Miolo", "we", "us"). This policy explains what data PastSelf handles, how it is stored, and how you can delete it.
Summary
PastSelf works offline. It has no accounts, no cloud sync, no advertising, and no analytics SDK. Alarms, labels, repeat schedules, wake-up settings, streaks, XP, challenge results, and voice recordings are stored only on your device. Voice recordings are never uploaded to Miolo or any third party.
Information PastSelf stores on your device
- Alarm time, label, repeat days or one-time date, enabled state, snooze interval, vibration, volume, gradual-volume, and challenge settings.
- Voice recordings you choose to record, up to 30 seconds per alarm.
- Alarm occurrence history, wake-up outcomes, streaks, XP, levels, and milestone state.
- App settings, onboarding completion, and local reliability events.
This data is used only to operate PastSelf. It is not sold, rented, or shared for advertising.
Voice recordings
Voice recordings are stored in PastSelf's app-private storage under a no-backup directory. They are excluded from Android Auto Backup and device-transfer backup where the operating system honours app exclusions. Recordings are never uploaded to Miolo servers. They may be deleted when you delete a recording, delete an alarm, reset local data, clear app storage, or uninstall the app.
Android permissions
- Exact alarms — schedules wake-up alarms at the selected time.
- Notifications — shows the incoming-call screen and fallback actions.
- Full-screen intent — displays the call-style alarm screen where Android permits.
- Microphone — requested only when you choose to record a voice message.
- Vibration and wake lock — vibrates and keeps audio running while an alarm rings.
- Boot and time-change receivers — restores scheduled alarms after reboot, clock changes, or timezone changes.
- Foreground service — keeps alarm audio running reliably.
You can revoke Android permissions in system settings. Revoking microphone access does not prevent alarms without a recording. Revoking alarm or notification permissions can prevent reliable ringing.
No accounts or cloud processing
PastSelf does not require an account, email address, phone number, or sign-in. PastSelf does not send alarm data, recordings, labels, streak data, or diagnostics to Miolo servers. The app does not include advertising, third-party analytics, or social features.
Data deletion
- Delete an individual alarm in the app. Its recording is removed with the alarm.
- Use Settings → Reset local data to remove alarms, recordings, history, XP, streaks, and settings.
- Uninstall PastSelf or clear app storage in Android settings to remove all local app data.
Because Miolo does not receive your PastSelf data, there is no server-side copy to delete. For privacy questions, contact hello@miolo.in.
Children
PastSelf is not directed to children under 13. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children. All app data remains on the user's device.
Security
PastSelf relies on your device's app sandbox and Android security model. Because recordings are never transmitted, their privacy depends on your device access controls, screen lock, and backup settings.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when PastSelf changes. The updated date will appear at the top of this page.
